Who we are

Hi, our names are Gaby Heezen and Richard Baars and, together, we founded Wings and Roots. Wings and Roots was born out of our experience travelling the world, where we saw both poverty and resilience, entrepreneurial spirit and faith in a brighter future. These experiences taught us that creating meaningful opportunities for others is the true purpose of business. What emerged was a vision for a new type of socially-conscious business concept, one in which we could pool our skills and conviction into making the world a better place.
Wings and Roots is our way of putting that vision into practise. We hope to touch as many people as possible and help inspire a new, socially-conscious mind-set. No one can solve all the world’s problems, but together, we can make a difference. Wings and Roots helps you contribute towards a better world and feel good about something you do every day.

Join us in our mission to give a gift and make a difference.

Wings and Roots believes in strong partnerships, both local and global. Together, we can make a difference.

Suppliers
All our products are produced using a fair share and direct trade model. That means that we only do business with reliable and experienced local partners. We work together with farming cooperative De La Gente in Guatemala and buy our beans directly from coffee farmers, who then get the best price. By cutting out the middleman, we can be sure that growers get a fair, ethical price for their products.

NGOs
All the projects we support have been chosen to align with five development areas that we believe can make the world a better place. We don’t carry out the projects ourselves, but work together with organisations that have a proven track-record of transparency and getting results. It’s our way of trying to create as much impact as possible for as many people as we can reach. We are currently working together with:

Circle of friends
